Drupe. An indehiscent
fruit consisting of a fleshy middle layer and woody inner layer
enclosing a single seed. It occurs in the peach, plum, and cherry.
Dry processing.
A natural technique during which the fruit and skin are
initially allowed to shrivel and dry around the bean, and are later
removed by abrasion, leaving only the interior parchment and beans.
Dry-processed coffees are generally heavier bodied and more variable
in flavour than wet-processed beans.
