We started to roast and package coffee beans in 1986, right in the heart of Asturias.

After a lifetime of innovation and commitment to product quality, we are currently one of the top 10 coffee makers in Spain and export to more than 27 countries.

A 7,500 m2 plot of land in the Silvota Industrial Park is purchased

New plant construction begins

1989

The first office outside Asturias is opened in Leon.

1992

Expansion outside Spain begins with the first export to Germany.

1994

An accidental fire seriously affects machinery and finished products. Thanks to teamwork and an agreement with another roasting company, sales and industrial work resumed in less than two months.

2000

Logistical warehouse facilities expand to reach a capacity of more than 1,470 pallets.

2001

Cafés Costablanca and Cafés Costa Cálida in Alicante are acquired.

2002

A new two-story administrative building is constructed.

Ground coffee with a valve is launched. The first Spanish company with grounding facilities without degassing silos.

2003

We launch Cofibox packaging (patented by Cafés Oquendo) for our debut in the SUPERMARKET channel.Cofibox packaging is the best ground coffee preservation system on the market.

Acquisition of Cafés MingotCosta Verde and Eurotost.

Our packaging line is doubled.

Acquisition of Cafés Genio.

New green coffee silos. Capacity: 250 tonnes.

NESPRESSO®-COMPATIBLE CAPSULES

The first packaging line for Nespresso®-compatible capsules is created.

Acquisition of Cafés Ferraz and Cafés Salmerón.

1 million kilos of coffee roasted.

THE FIRST to launch Mepiachi capsules that are compatible with the Dolce Gusto® system.

Acquisition of a new, 2,750 m2 logistical warehouse with a capacity for 2,712 pallets.

Expansion of production facilities.

Three capsule packaging lines are added, with an adaptation space for packaging soluble coffee.

Launch of compostable capsules that are compatible with the Nespresso® system.

Acquisition of Cafés A Cafeteira.

Launch of the brand OQUENDO NATURA, which encompasses all the company’s ORGANIC products. This is one of the ways our company raises awareness about and respects the environment.
